Two in a Row

I´m not certain of my internet situation and so I figured I´d update while I can. Plus there isn´t much to do after dark here but sit around, drink and bullshit, which is unappealing since it´s mostly in spanish and I don´t feel like drinking.

Plus I have an internet addiction and I guess this is my weening period....

I don´t know how to edit the pictures to behind a cut... so if anyone does, please let me know

Pictures from yesterday...

I slept pretty much the whole way and then woke up to this..

Then I took the bus and got to enjoy the beach in Playa del Carmen for a brief moment while looking for the collectivo

It was nearly dark when I got here, but after being awkward for a while, finding some pineapple juice for dinner, and finally going to sleep in my almost unbearably muggy room, I woke up to this

And wouldn´t you know it, I set down my book for a second and suddenly this appears in my lap. I know I´m not supposed to touch the animals... but I swear I only barely did. It´s not my fault if kitties love my lap.

I won´t put up any pics of my hostel because there isn´t much here and it probably looks worse than it is. I wouldn´t want to worry my family ;) However, having a free bike to ride around has been the best.

Also, after finding out there is wifi here long enough to text some and call my mom, I also acquired some sort of strange virus on my iphone. coincidence? ... huh. after leaving it here to reboot for a few hours I missed a million beautiful shots on the beach, since it was hands down the best weather all day, but these are from after I came to get more water, check on the iphone, and return to the beach. I never got to restore it, but I´ve figured out how to work with the virus so it doesn´t crash my phone every time I try to do something.

The weather changes so rapidly here at the tip of the Yucatan, going from complete downpoor to amazing blue skies with fluffy white clouds several times today. It started pouring as I began writing this and it´s already stopped. I can´t imagine more perfect weather, since the rain is just how I love it: warm with no wind.

Mostly I just sat here on the beach and either read, daydreamed or napped today.

I also took a pretty long bike ride up a road by the beach during one of the rainy periods.

I talked with some people from my hostel that I ran into on the beach for about 10 minutes before I realized I´d rather be alone than try to make small talk. So I excused myself to wander, practice my spanish and take more pictures. There are a ton of pelicans, but I could never get a good shot. However, the cabanas were pretty stationary

And to end the day before returning to the internet and mosquitos of the hostel, I had the most unbelievable enchiladas verdes I have ever had in my life. I almost didn´t go because it was gringo priced, but until my spanish gets better I´m just going to have to hit the tourist spots or end up feeling like a complete asshole.

Tomorrow is Chetumal and then Belize the day after where I can settle for at least a couple nights. I´m really looking forward to getting to my homestay.. hostel jumping isn´t really my thing.
